
Avoid The #1 Mistake Being Made In Network Marketing Today
Every week I receive messages from fellow network marketers wanting to know if I would take a look at their awesome opportunity and consider becoming a new distributor of the next big thing that is going to change the planet. I know that I am not alone here. There’s not even a “Hi, how you doing, nice to meet you.” They just blatantly start spitting their opportunity all over the place, post links to some company replicated website or one of my favorites, “have you heard the great news!” and they go on with their rant.
What is even more sad is at the end of some of these messages that they ask me to contact them for more information or say serious inquiries only please. What a joke! These are the types of methods that make outsiders looking in continue to mock the Network Marketing Industry and discredit it as a true proffesion.
WE MUST BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND LEAD WITH VALUE!
Why? Answer these two very simple questions.
1) How foolish do some of these people look when they are trying to pitch me a business opportunity or system that I am already involved in?
2) Would you make a major purchase or get involved in a multi-million dollar business endeavor without knowing anything about the person with whom you are dealing with?
The simple fact is that most involved in Network Marketing lack the skills of adding value, and relationship building today. Regardless of what your upline has told you, everyone breathing is not your prospect. If you can’t offer value and solutions to the people that you are talking to then you are talking to the wrong people. If you can not be part of their solutions, then you are just going to be adding to their problems.
Being a pitch man (or woman) doesn’t work. People hate to be sold! It is unattractive and you are positioning yourself as a desperate salesperson who is just out to make a quick buck. So forget about the internet for a minute and let’s talk about the list of friends and family that almost everyone is told to put together by their upline when they get involved in a business opportunity.
Why won’t the majority of your friends and family join you in your opportunity? After all, those are your people right? What happens when someone is chasing you around hounding you about something? You run and hide right? Why should they think any differently? Now you have some of the people that are closest to you running the other way when they see you and changing your name in their cell phone to “The Plague”. They don’t understand network marketing. The majority of people are raised with the mindset to be an employee until they are ready to retire.

Your target market is people that are already in or looking to get involved in Network Marketing/MLM. People do not care about companies, products and compensation plans. Especially when you are talking to fellow network marketers. They hear that stuff all the time. People join people. They do business with people that they know, like and trust. They are looking for leadership. They want someone that is going to be able to show them how THEY can get results.
Become a leader, a friend and a teacher to your target market and educate people on how YOU can help solve some of their problems. Provide value and solutions to their current situation. Provide the proper tools and training that is necessary to build a successful business and then guess what will happen. They are going to ask you about your business opportunity.
So how can you do this? You might be saying how can I do that when I can’t get the results that I am looking for. This is Network Marketing. With the key word being MARKETING. You MUST gain the skills sets and the knowledge of how to market successfully.
Here are just two things that happen when you know how to market effectively over the internet:
1) People come to you. You know how to drive traffic, get in front of thousands of people everyday, generate your own leads and build your own list with people that are already looking for what you have to offer LEAVING YOU THEIR INFORMATION WANTING YOU TO CONTACT THEM.
2) You profit off of people even if they never join you in your primary business.
When you learn how to market successfully, you are going to find that sponsoring people into your business becomes effortless.
