How to Select the Best Network Marketing Opportunity
Take Your Time In Choosing the Best Network Marketing Opportunity for You
In today’s difficult economy, many companies are struggling in a major way. Employees are feeling the heat. Many are feeling very insecure about their jobs. Others have already lost their jobs. People are desperate to Earn Extra Money or to replace the job earnings they have lost.
But many Network Marketing Businesses are seeing their profits rise. If you have an interest in a home business, you will find that there are many internet and Network Marketing Companies trying to get you to join them. But there are so many companies out there. The question is, “how to choose the best network marketing opportunity for you?”
There are some very good companies and there are some outrageous scams. Here is a word of advice. Don’t choose a Network Marketing Company or business if it doesn’t have a discernable product or service. Do not select a business where the product or service appears to be an afterthought.
Don’t choose a company that makes wild income potential claims. Don’t be misled by a company that says that you can be successful without much work. An internet and network marketing business is similar to any other business. It requires a significant amount of effort in order to be successful.
Keep in mind, there are many good companies out there that offer very high quality products and services! Listed below are some of the criteria I use to choose the best network marketing opportunity:
1. Select a Business that has a Product or Service You can be Passionate About.
Let’s say you are considering a nutritional product company. If you have no interest in that type of product, you are probably just wasting your time.
First of all, you need to be a “product of the product.” In other words, you must use your company’s products, know that they work for you, and enthusiastically promote them.
There are very few successful internet network marketers who are not passionate about their company’s products and services.
You also need to become product knowledgeable. I’m not saying that you must know all the details and the precise ingredients of your product. But you must have enough general knowledge to carry on a decent discussion with a prospect. If you don’t have much interest in the nutritional product you represent, you will probably have a difficult time gaining the product knowledge you need.
It is also very beneficial for you if the company’s products are in front of a business trend.
2. Compensation Plans are Very Important in Selecting a Business
However, you may have a difficult time understanding a compensation plan in the brief period of time you are evaluating a business. I do suggest that you take some time studying it. Keep in mind that comp plans are generally shown depicting a perfect scenario. The perfect scenario never happens.
Chances are that even a watered down version of the plan is difficult to achieve.
You need to ask comp plan questions from someone you trust. That is probably not the person that is recruiting you. That person may have never drawn a check from the company in their life.
However, you might start there and eventually talk to someone above your recruiter that knows what they are talking about. In this case, I suggest that you have studied the plan and have some specific questions. But in the long run, you must use your own common sense in evaluating the plan. Remember, you are dependent upon that plan for your monetary success.
3. A Good Network Marketing Business Should Have a Solid Management Team
If this is a nutritional company, the management team should not just consist of a bunch of scientists excited about the products. However, having a scientist or some other nutritional professional who clearly and enthusiastically promotes the company’s products is an important member of the team.
The team should consist of members coming from different areas of expertise. Marketing is a key factor in the success of any business. Therefore, it is extremely important that the team have a person with a proven track record in marketing this or other network marketing companies.
It’s important that the top operating officer has a broad range of experience and has had significant success in running this or other companies. A good network marketing background is very important.
4. It’s Extremely Important that the Company be Financially Strong
Is the company debt free? Does the company have a history of paying its commission checks on a timely basis. You want to find a company whose focus is on helping its representatives and providing quality products and services to its customers. You definitely don’t want to join a company that is scrambling to pay its bills.
5. This is Very Important – You Must Select a Company of Very High Integrity
Some company founders have started their business for the primary purpose of making money for themselves. That is not the type of company you want to join.
There is too much hype in network marketing. You will see many ads for companies promising that the new rep will make a ton of money in a very short time with little effort. Steer clear of those companies.
6. The Business Should be “Internet Friendly.”
Most companies provide training in the old, traditional network marketing methods such as going after your warm market or cold calling leads. However, your best opportunity to succeed is to market your business online using internet attraction marketing methods. This will result in prospects being attracted to you rather than you chasing after them.
